Colmar Houssen Airport (CMR)

Colmar Houssen Airport is a general and business aviation airport serving Colmar and the surrounding Alsace region. Created by Allied forces at the end of the Second World War, the airfield was acquired by the City of Colmar and opened to public air traffic in 1953, initially for light and sport aviation.

Located about 4 km north of central Colmar in Houssen, near exit 23 of the A35 motorway, the airport provides facilities for private aircraft, business aviation, tourism and sport flights. A single terminal building handles passengers, supported by a paved runway, hangars and aircraft parking areas. A Colmar–Paris scheduled route operated from 1974 until 1989, and the airport was later modernized for business aviation and charter operations.

The airport is connected to Colmar by taxi, private transfer, rental car and local bus services, with a bus stop close to the terminal. Nearby destinations include the Alsace Wine Route villages such as Riquewihr, Kaysersberg and Eguisheim, as well as the Vosges mountains.

With its terminal facilities, meeting rooms, pilots' lounge and on-request handling services, Colmar Houssen Airport remains a convenient gateway for business, private and leisure aviation in the Alsace region.
