About Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc Airport
Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc Airport serves the city of Chambéry, the lakeside town of Aix-les-Bains and the wider Savoie region. Situated between Lake Bourget and the French Alps, it is best known as a winter gateway for travellers heading to major ski areas such as the Three Valleys, Tignes, Val d'Isère and Les Arcs.
The airport dates back to 1938 and began commercial operations in 1960. Today it is operated by VINCI Airports and centres on a single passenger terminal, with a separate business aviation terminal handling private and corporate flights.
Located about 10 km from central Chambéry and roughly 5 km from Aix-les-Bains, the airport is reached by road and offers bus, taxi, private transfer, chauffeur and car rental options for onward travel. Its compact layout keeps walking distances short, while seasonal flights and winter charter traffic peak during the ski season.
