About Calgary International Airport
Calgary International Airport is the main international airport serving Calgary and the wider southern Alberta region. It opened in 1938 as McCall Field and has since grown into one of Canada's busiest airports, with a major International Terminal opened in 2016 and a key role as a hub for WestJet.
Located approximately 17 km northeast of downtown Calgary, the airport connects travelers to domestic destinations across Canada, major U.S. cities and international routes to Europe and Asia. Its two connected terminal buildings house the Domestic Terminal with Concourses A, B and C, and the International Terminal with Concourse D for international flights and Concourse E for U.S. transborder flights.
The airport is connected to the city by Calgary Transit Route 300 Airport bus service, taxis, ride-sharing, private transfers, chauffeur services and road links, while car rental is available from the Rental Car Centre near the terminal.
As a gateway to the Canadian Rockies, YYC offers convenient onward access to Calgary's city centre, Banff, Canmore, Lake Louise and other destinations in Alberta, supported by passenger facilities including restaurants, shops, lounges, free Wi-Fi and accessibility services.
