About Beru Airport
Beru Airport is the only airfield serving Beru Island, a coral atoll in the southern Gilbert Islands of Kiribati. It is a small public airfield with a single grass runway and a compact passenger terminal, used mainly for domestic flights.
Its main route links Beru Island with Bonriki International Airport in Tarawa, the capital, operated by Air Kiribati. The flight covers roughly 440 km and gives the island its most practical connection to government services, supplies, and onward international travel.
The airfield lies on the southern part of the atoll, close to the village of Teteirio and about two kilometres from Rongorongo, the island's main settlement. Surrounding villages are reached along the island's main road, and travel distances are short.
Facilities are modest, matching the island's small population and limited flight schedule. Passengers should arrive early, keep luggage light, and confirm schedules in advance, as services can be affected by weather and operational changes.
