About Aurillac–Tronquières Airport
Aurillac–Tronquières Airport is the regional airport serving Aurillac, the capital of the Cantal department, and the wider Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Managed by Aurillac Agglomération, it connects the area to Paris and is an important access point for business and leisure travel to the Cantal and the volcanic landscapes of Auvergne.
The airport is located about 3 km southwest of central Aurillac, on the Tronquières site shared by the communes of Aurillac and Arpajon-sur-Cère. A single passenger terminal handles scheduled services, and Chalair has operated the Aurillac–Paris Orly route since June 2023, with a flight time of around one hour and twenty-five minutes.
The site has a long aviation history, with aerodrome activity recorded since the 1930s. In December 2017 the community airport obtained the European airport safety certificate, and in 2025 it was renamed Aurillac Marie Marvingt Airport in honour of the pioneering aviator born in Aurillac.
Passengers can reach central Aurillac by local bus, taxi, private transfer or rental car, with the railway station about 4 km from the terminal. The compact terminal provides essential passenger services including Wi-Fi, dining, shops, parking and car rental, making onward travel around Cantal straightforward.
