About Alderney Airport
Alderney Airport is the only airport on the island of Alderney and a key transport link for the Bailiwick of Guernsey. Opened in the 1930s, it was the first operational airport in the Channel Islands, and its current passenger terminal dates from 1968.
The airport lies about 2 km southwest of St Anne and serves scheduled flights to Southampton and Guernsey, operated mainly by Aurigny. It has one asphalt runway and two grass runways, reflecting its role as a compact island airfield for both commercial and private aviation.
Ground transport is straightforward: a taxi rank and a freephone are available outside the terminal and in the arrivals hall, and car hire can be arranged for exploring the island. St Anne is only a short drive or a walk of around 20 minutes away.
Despite its small size, the terminal provides useful passenger facilities including the Aviator Café, a duty-free area and accessibility assistance, making it a practical gateway for visitors arriving in Alderney.
