About Filadelfia Airport
Filadelfia Airport is the regional airfield serving Filadelfia, capital of the Boquerón Department in Paraguay's Gran Chaco. It is a small general aviation facility with a single runway, used mainly by private aircraft, charters, medical evacuation flights and agricultural or government missions. There are no regular scheduled commercial flights.
Located about 3 km from the town centre, the airport provides an important link for the Fernheim Mennonite colony and surrounding Chaco communities. Because it is not an official airport of entry, international passengers normally clear customs and immigration at a larger hub such as Asunción or Ciudad del Este before flying on to Filadelfia.
The airport sits roughly 467 km northwest of Asunción and is reached by road via the Trans-Chaco route; the drive from the capital takes about five hours. Facilities at the airfield are modest, with most passenger services found in Filadelfia town.
