Rzeszów

Rzeszów is the capital and largest city of Poland's Subcarpathian Voivodeship (Podkarpackie), set in the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains in the southeast of the country. Known as a centre of the aviation industry and a growing university and technology hub, it combines a compact historic core with an active business and event scene.

The city's heart is the Market Square (Rynek), surrounded by restored tenement houses and dominated by the Renaissance Town Hall. Nearby, Rzeszów Castle and the Lubomirski Summer Palace reflect the city's noble past, while the Underground Tourist Route reveals cellars and passageways beneath the Old Town. The 17th-century Fara Church and its tower add to the skyline of the historic centre.

Pedestrian streets such as 3 Maja and Grunwaldzka link the Old Town with cafés, shops and restaurants, and the Multimedia Fountain and its surrounding park are a popular evening attraction. Outside the centre, the Millennium Hall in Nowe Miasto offers shopping and leisure, while Łańcut Castle, one of the region's finest aristocratic residences, is an easy day trip.

As the centre of the Aviation Valley (Dolina Lotnicza) cluster, Rzeszów is significant for aerospace, engineering and technology businesses, supported by universities such as Rzeszów University of Technology. Conferences, trade fairs, cultural festivals and a lively café and dining scene make the city relevant for both business travellers and leisure visitors exploring southeastern Poland.
