About The Farrington
The Farrington is one of fourteen districts that make up Anguilla, a British Overseas Territory in the eastern Caribbean. With a population of only a few hundred people, it is a low-key residential area rather than a busy resort town, giving visitors a glimpse of everyday island life away from the main beachfront developments.
The district lies in the south-central to south-eastern part of the island, within easy reach of Sandy Hill Bay, Long Salt Pond and the capital, The Valley. Anguilla itself is flat and limestone-based, so distances are short and much of the island can be explored on day trips from a single base.
Nearby, Sandy Hill Bay offers a quiet stretch of sand and calm water, while Long Salt Pond is a brackish lagoon that attracts birdlife and sits close to the Sandy Hill area. In The Valley, visitors can see the restored Wallblake House and the Heritage Collection Museum, and better-known beaches such as Shoal Bay East, Meads Bay and Rendezvous Bay are only a short drive away.
Anguilla is best known as an upscale Caribbean destination for beaches, villas, small luxury resorts and excellent dining, and The Farrington works well as a calm residential base with access to those experiences. Business travel is modest and centred on The Valley, while Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport connects Anguilla to regional hubs such as St Maarten and Antigua.
For leisure travellers, The Farrington offers a quiet setting close to the coast and easy access to snorkelling, sailing and beach days. For business and event visitors, its short distances make it a practical location from which to reach The Valley and the airport quickly.

Best Time to Visit
December to April offers the most settled weather and is the busiest period in Anguilla. May and June are usually warm and less crowded, while August brings the island's Carnival and the hurricane season runs from June to November.
How to Get Around
The Farrington is small and central enough for short drives to nearby beaches and The Valley. Rental cars are the most flexible option, taxis are available for point-to-point trips, and driving is on the left.
Where to Stay
The Farrington itself is mainly residential with villas and guesthouses, while Sandy Hill has beachfront options and The Valley offers hotels, apartments and easy access to services. Shoal Bay East and Meads Bay suit visitors who want resort-style stays directly on the sand.
Food & Drink
Anguillian food centres on fresh seafood, grilled lobster and crayfish, johnny cakes, saltfish and barbecue, often served at beach shacks and casual restaurants. Sandy Ground, The Valley and Shoal Bay offer the widest choice of dining and bars.
