The airfield lies close to the Stuart Highway, about 114 km south of Tennant Creek and roughly 380 km north of Alice Springs. It has a single unsealed runway, 09/27, approximately 800 metres long, which supports light aircraft used for private travel and regional access.
Its location makes the airport a practical entry point for visitors travelling to the Devils Marbles Conservation Reserve, which sits about 10 km to the north, and to surrounding stations and remote communities across the Barkly region.
