Warwick Airport (WAZ) is a regional aerodrome serving Warwick, Queensland, and the wider Southern Downs region. It primarily supports general aviation, charter, private, flying training and gliding activity rather than scheduled commercial airline services.
The aerodrome was established in 1958 after being built by volunteers between 1955 and 1958, and was dedicated to those who lost their lives in World War Two. Today it is operated by Southern Downs Regional Council and features a single bitumen-sealed runway measuring 1,640 m, capable of handling twin-engine executive jets.
Located about 10 km north-west of Warwick town centre, the airport offers road access to the regional highway network and onward connections to Brisbane, the Gold Coast and other parts of Queensland. It is home to the Warwick Aero Club and gliding clubs.
With Avgas fuel, a sealed taxiway, aircraft parking and basic passenger facilities, Warwick Airport provides a practical and convenient gateway for private and charter travelers visiting Warwick, Stanthorpe and the Granite Belt.
