Warrnambool Airport (WMB)

Warrnambool Airport is a small regional airport serving Warrnambool and the surrounding coastal districts of south-western Victoria, including the Great Ocean Road and Shipwreck Coast areas. It is owned and operated by Warrnambool City Council and is located about 13 km north-north-west of central Warrnambool within Moyne Shire.

The airport was established around the time of the Second World War and later developed as a civil airfield. Its passenger terminal was redeveloped and reopened in 2009, and the airport today mainly supports general aviation, charter flights, air ambulance services, pilot training and aerial agriculture, rather than regular scheduled airline traffic.

It has two runways, with the main sealed runway measuring 1,372 metres in length and 30 metres wide, and supports navigation and lighting systems suitable for regional aircraft operations. The compact terminal keeps passenger movement simple, with a small waiting area, public toilets and a public pay phone.

Road access to Warrnambool, Port Fairy and surrounding towns is direct, and onward travel is generally arranged by taxi, private transfer, chauffeur service or rental car. While facilities on site are limited, the airport works as a practical regional gateway for private, charter and emergency services traffic.
