Wapenamanda Airport is a domestic airport serving Wabag and Enga Province in the highlands of Papua New Guinea. It is the main air gateway to Enga Province, connecting the region to Port Moresby and other parts of the country. The airport sits at an elevation of about 5,900 feet and has a single asphalt runway. Passenger services are operated with Dash 8 aircraft by Air Niugini subsidiary Link PNG, with PNG Air also serving the airport on domestic routes. The airport was redeveloped as part of a K43 million upgrade launched in 2019, with works including runway maintenance and sealing, a new terminal and car park, a VIP lounge, restrooms and improved passenger seating. Wapenamanda Airport is located near the town of Wapenamanda, approximately 32 km from Wabag. Travelers continue to the provincial capital by road, with taxis, private transfers and pre-arranged vehicles available for the onward journey.
