About Toowoomba Airport
Toowoomba Airport, also known as Toowoomba City Aerodrome, is a general aviation and corporate airport serving Toowoomba and the surrounding Darling Downs region. It is located in Wilsonton, about 4 km northwest of the city centre, making it a quick gateway for private, charter and aeromedical flights.
The airport has a long aviation history, with aircraft using the site since 1911 and military activity during the Second World War. Today it primarily supports the Royal Flying Doctor Service, LifeFlight, the Darling Downs Aero Club, and private and corporate aviation, while most scheduled commercial passenger services for the region operate from Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport.
Road connections provide easy access between the airport and Toowoomba, with taxi, ride-share, private transfer, chauffeur and car rental options available for the short journey into the city centre and onward travel across the Darling Downs.
The compact terminal is open daily from 4am to 9pm and includes toilets with disabled access. Because on-site passenger amenities are limited, travellers can quickly reach the city centre for accommodation, dining and other services.
