About Tofino/Long Beach Airport
Tofino/Long Beach Airport serves the coastal communities of Tofino and Ucluelet on the west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia. The airfield was originally built by Canada's Department of National Defence during the Second World War and is now operated by the Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District.
Located 11 km south of Tofino and 30 km north of Ucluelet along the Pacific Rim Highway, the airport functions as the main gateway to the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, Long Beach and surrounding resort areas. A compact passenger terminal building opened in 2010 handles scheduled flights, charters and general aviation.
Scheduled connections include flights to Vancouver operated by Pacific Coastal Airlines and Harbour Air, while charter operators serve the region. The airport has three runways of roughly 1,500 metres, and night operations were certified in 2017.
Onward travel is available by taxi, rental car and private or group transfers, with parking on site. The airport's small terminal offers a waiting area, washrooms, vending machines and a rental car desk, making it a practical arrival point for visitors exploring the west coast.
