About Tobermorey Airport
Tobermorey Airport is a small outback airfield located at Tobermorey Station, near the border of the Northern Territory and Queensland on the Plenty Highway. It supports private, charter and Royal Flying Doctor Service flights serving one of Australia's most remote station regions.
The airfield sits just inside the Northern Territory, roughly 250 km west of Boulia and about 650 km from Alice Springs. Its single all-weather gravel strip is approximately 1,250 metres long and lies at an elevation of 575 feet.
The airport does not have a conventional passenger terminal. Visiting aircraft park in a gravel and grass area, and AVGAS and Jet A-1 fuel can be arranged by pre-order through Tobermorey Station, which also provides accommodation, meals and a bar for fly-in guests.
Ground access is via the Plenty and Donohue Highways, and the airstrip also serves as a stopover for outback aviation travellers exploring the Red Centre and western Queensland.
