Tennant Creek Airport is a small regional airport serving Tennant Creek and the surrounding Barkly region of the Northern Territory. It sits on the western edge of the township, about 1 km from the town centre, making it a convenient entry point for visitors travelling across remote central Australia.
The airfield dates back to World War II, when it was used as a staging airfield, and its current terminal facilities were constructed during the 1960s. The airport is now managed by the Airport Development Group.
Scheduled passenger flights are operated by Airnorth on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, connecting Tennant Creek with Darwin, Katherine and Alice Springs. The airport also handles medical, government, tourism and charter flights that support the region.
