About Temora Airport
Temora Airport is a regional and general aviation aerodrome serving Temora, New South Wales, and the surrounding Riverina district. Located about 4 km northwest of the town centre, it is home to the Temora Aviation Museum and a centre for gliding, parachuting, aerobatics and recreational flying.
The site has a strong aviation heritage dating to World War II, when the Royal Australian Air Force established No. 10 Elementary Flying Training School there in 1941. After the flying school closed in 1946, the aerodrome continued to serve the community and later became the base for the aviation museum, which opened to the public in 2000.
The airport has three runways, including the 2,040-metre sealed runway 05/23 completed in a 2004 upgrade, and operates primarily for general aviation rather than scheduled passenger flights. Ground access to Temora is a short drive, and the town is roughly a one-hour drive from Wagga Wagga.
Visitors come for the museum's ex-military aircraft displays and flying events, while the open apron, refuelling services and aero club support private and recreational pilots. This makes the airport a practical and distinctive aviation gateway for the Riverina.
