About Taree Airport
Taree Airport is a regional airport serving Taree and the Manning Valley on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales. It sits about 5.6 km northeast of Taree's city centre and is owned and operated by MidCoast Council.
The airport has a single sealed runway, 04/22, which is 1,504 metres long and suitable for smaller aircraft, together with a compact passenger terminal offering basic facilities. It is used mainly for general aviation, private aircraft, and regional services.
Although scheduled passenger flights no longer operate from Taree, the airport remains important for emergency services, medical and aeromedical flights, private charters, and air mail and courier services. It also supports defence force training and the Manning River Aero Club.
Travellers can reach the airport by car or taxi in about ten minutes from central Taree, with parking available on-site. The Mid North Coast location puts the airport within easy reach of towns such as Forster, Tuncurry, Old Bar, and Port Macquarie, making it a convenient entry point for private and chartered flights to the region.
