Tachileik Airport is the main airport serving Tachileik, a border town in Myanmar's eastern Shan State. It handles domestic flights and connects the town with Yangon, Mandalay, Heho, Kengtung and other regional destinations, supporting travel for residents, business visitors and tourists moving between Myanmar and northern Thailand.
The airport has a single asphalt-and-concrete runway, 04/22, approximately 2,134 metres long, and a compact passenger terminal. Several Myanmar domestic carriers, including Myanmar National Airlines, Air KBZ, Air Thanlwin, Mann Yadanarpon Airlines and Golden Myanmar Airlines, operate regular flights to and from the airport.
Tachileik Airport is located about 8 km north-east of Tachileik town, close to the Mae Sai border crossing. Taxis and buses link the terminal with the town centre, while private transfers and rental cars offer flexible onward travel in the border region.
