St George Airport (SGO)

St George Airport is a small regional airport serving St George and the surrounding Balonne Shire in south-west Queensland. It provides an important domestic connection for the town and nearby farming communities, with scheduled regional flights linking the area to Brisbane and other western Queensland centres.

The airport is owned and operated by Balonne Shire Council and is located about 2 km from the St George town centre. It has a single sealed runway and a compact passenger terminal that handles scheduled passenger services, charter flights and general aviation activity.

Passengers can reach the town by taxi, private transfer, hire car or local pickup, with the short distance from the airport making onward travel straightforward. The facility also supports air ambulance, government aircraft, aerial agricultural operations and general aviation.

Although modest in size, the airport plays a practical role for travellers visiting the cotton, grain and cattle-producing Balonne region, as well as for residents and businesses needing reliable access to Queensland's wider transport network.
