Squamish Municipal Airport (YSE)

Squamish Municipal Airport, also known as Don Patrick Field, is a general aviation airport serving Squamish, British Columbia and the surrounding Sea-to-Sky region. It supports private aircraft, charter services, flight training, flying clubs and helicopter operations rather than scheduled passenger flights. The airport was built by the Squamish Flying Club, opened with a gravel runway in 1970, and was paved in 1971; it is now owned and operated by the District of Squamish. Located about 8 km north of downtown Squamish, the airport provides a practical aviation gateway for recreational pilots, aerial tourism, wildfire support and other commercial activities. Its single paved runway is Runway 15-33, measuring 2,400 ft by 75 ft, and is used for both fixed-wing and rotary-wing arrivals and departures. The facility is positioned close to Highway 99 and Government Road, making it convenient for travellers continuing to Squamish, Whistler, Garibaldi Provincial Park and the wider Sea-to-Sky corridor. Passenger amenities are limited compared with major airports, and travellers typically coordinate services with the airport's tenants or arrange ground transport in advance.
