Spring Creek Airport (SCG)

Spring Creek Airport is a small private aerodrome located in the Etheridge Shire of Far North Queensland, near Spring Creek Station. It primarily supports light aircraft, station operations and charter flights across the remote Gulf Savannah and Einasleigh Uplands region rather than scheduled airline services.

The airfield has a single unsealed runway, designated 08/26 and approximately 990 metres long, at an elevation of about 520 metres. Because it is a private airstrip with no commercial terminal, arrivals and departures are arranged in advance with operators or station management.

The aerodrome lies roughly 50 kilometres east of the small town of Einasleigh and about 120 kilometres from Mount Garnet. Georgetown, the administrative centre of Etheridge Shire, lies further west, while Cairns is the nearest major city, more than 200 kilometres to the northeast. Onward travel is by private vehicle, and road conditions can vary.

For visitors and station workers travelling through this part of northern Queensland, the airstrip offers a practical link into a region with limited transport infrastructure. Passengers should plan fuel, supplies and connections ahead of time, as commercial facilities are found in nearby towns rather than at the aerodrome.
