About Southport Airport
Southport Airport is a small general aviation airfield serving Southport and the northern Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. It is operated by the Southport Flying Club and is best known for flight training, private and light-aircraft flying, helicopter activity and skydiving rather than scheduled airline services.
Located in Coombabah about 6.5 km northwest of Southport, the airport has a single runway approximately 778 metres long and a compact apron with clubhouse and hangar facilities. Because it is a private airfield, landing is generally subject to prior permission.
Road access connects the airfield to Southport, Surfers Paradise and the wider Gold Coast, with Brisbane roughly 67 km to the north. Travellers using the airport typically arrange taxis, private transfers, chauffeur services or rental cars in advance.
Although passenger facilities are limited compared with major terminals, the airport provides a practical base for general aviation visitors and a convenient entry point for private and charter arrivals heading to Gold Coast destinations.
Terminal Overview
Terminals
