Southern Cross Airport (SQC)

Southern Cross Airport (SQC/YSCR) is the local airport serving Southern Cross, a historic Goldfields town in the Shire of Yilgarn in Western Australia's eastern Wheatbelt. Located about 3 km east of the town centre along the Great Eastern Highway, it provides a convenient air access point for a lightly populated but important mining and agricultural region.

The airport has two unsealed runways, 14/32 and 09/27, with runway 14/32 about 1,405 metres long and having sealed sections at each end. A sealed taxiway and apron serve a compact terminal building with basic facilities, and the aerodrome has low-intensity lighting.

Southern Cross Airport has no scheduled commercial airline services. It is used for general aviation, private and charter flights, aero club activity and Royal Flying Doctor Service operations, and has previously supported fly-in, fly-out mining flights.

Road access is straightforward via the Great Eastern Highway, linking Southern Cross to Perth, about 340 km to the west, and Kalgoorlie to the east. Private transfers, rental cars and chauffeur services can be arranged for onward travel from the airport.
