About South Bimini Airport
South Bimini Airport serves the Bimini islands, a small western Bahamas destination known for fishing, diving and beach resorts. It is located on South Bimini, with Alice Town and the main resort areas of North Bimini a short road and water-taxi journey away. The airport connects Bimini to Fort Lauderdale in the United States and to Nassau, providing access for both international visitors and domestic island travelers. Its single runway and compact terminal handle regional air service throughout the year. In recent years the airport has been part of a major redevelopment led by Bimini Airport Development Partners. Works include an expanded apron, updated runway lighting and navigational aids, and a new international terminal designed to support additional commercial flights and improve passenger processing. For arriving passengers, the airport is the starting point for travel to North Bimini, Alice Town and Resorts World Bimini, with taxis, golf-cart rentals and short ferry connections completing the final leg of the journey.
