Shepparton Airport (SHT)

Shepparton Airport (SHT) is a regional aerodrome serving the city of Shepparton and the surrounding Goulburn Valley in northern Victoria. Operated by the Greater Shepparton City Council, it supports general aviation, charter, flying training, corporate travel and emergency services rather than scheduled airline services.

The aerodrome was established in the early 1950s, and in 1956 Southern Airlines began the first air service between Essendon and Shepparton using a De Havilland Dove. The main sealed runway was first surfaced in 1967 and has since been extended to about 1,379 metres, with a further extension and runway lighting completed in 2001.

The airport is located about 8 km south of the Shepparton CBD on Melbourne Road at Kialla, roughly 190 km north of Melbourne. Travelers reach the city centre and nearby towns such as Mooroopna and Nagambie by taxi, hire car or private transfer, with local roads and the Goulburn Valley Highway providing onward links.

The compact terminal offers essential passenger facilities including a lounge, refreshments, toilets and a public telephone. With no large airline operations, arrivals and departures are straightforward, making the airport a practical base for regional, business and private flying in the Goulburn Valley.
