About Sechelt-Gibsons Airport
Sechelt-Gibsons Airport is a small community aerodrome serving Sechelt, Gibsons and the surrounding Sunshine Coast of British Columbia. Owned by the District of Sechelt, it primarily supports general aviation, private aircraft and aviation-related businesses in the region.
The airport sits about 2.4 km (1.5 mi) southeast of central Sechelt and roughly 19 km (12 mi) northwest of Gibsons, with access from the Sunshine Coast Highway via Field Road. It operates a single paved runway, a compact terminal building, aircraft fuel, private hangars and a weather station.
Because the airport is small, most travelers continue by private vehicle, taxi or pre-arranged transfer. The Sunshine Coast is also connected by scheduled Harbour Air seaplane flights from nearby Porpoise Bay in Sechelt, linking the area with Vancouver and Nanaimo.
Although facilities are limited, the airport offers convenient access to Sechelt, Gibsons, Roberts Creek and other Sunshine Coast destinations, making it a practical gateway for private pilots and general aviation travelers.
