About Sandringham Airport
Sandringham Airport (SRM) is a small outback airstrip serving Sandringham Station, a cattle property in Queensland's Diamantina Shire and Channel Country. The airport supports station operations, charter flights and private aviation in one of Australia's most remote regions.
Located roughly 55 km northwest of Bedourie, the airstrip sits along the Bedourie–Boulia road, which passes through the station and links the area to nearby outback towns. Bedourie, the administrative centre of the Diamantina Shire, is the closest town for fuel, supplies and services, while Boulia and Birdsville lie farther along the region's outback roads.
The airport is a simple single-runway airstrip without the terminal infrastructure of a major commercial airport. Passengers travelling by charter or private aircraft should confirm all arrangements directly with their operator before arriving and plan onward road travel in advance.
For visitors heading to Sandringham Station, surrounding cattle properties or the wider Channel Country, Sandringham Airport provides a practical remote access point. Because services and facilities are limited on site, travellers should carry essentials and make transport and accommodation plans before departure.
