Rumginae Airport (RMN) is a small mission airfield in the Western Province of Papua New Guinea, close to the Rumginae Hospital and mission station. It sits in tropical lowland country at an elevation of about 160 feet and is used mainly for medical evacuations, missionary aviation and small charter flights rather than regular commercial airline traffic.
The airfield has a single grass runway, 15/33, measuring approximately 595 metres, and operates in connection with the hospital run by the Evangelical Church of Papua New Guinea. Mission Aviation Fellowship has served the area since 1951, linking the hospital and surrounding communities that are otherwise reachable only by river, walking tracks or air.
Rumginae is located about 25 km north of Kiunga, the nearest town, but there is no road connection between the airfield and the wider national road network. Access is normally by small aircraft from Kiunga or Mount Hagen, while local movement around the mission area relies on river canoes and walking paths.
Because facilities are minimal, the airfield functions more as a humanitarian and community lifeline than a conventional passenger airport, and travellers should confirm all flight and ground arrangements with the operating organisation before departure.
