Royan-Médis Airport (RYN)

Royan-Médis Airport is a public aerodrome serving Royan and the Charente-Maritime coast in south-west France. It is located about 4 km east of central Royan, close to the town of Médis, and is operated by the City of Royan in cooperation with the City of Médis.

The airfield mainly handles general aviation, private charter, flight training, helicopter and parachuting activity, with no regular scheduled airline service. It has two parallel runways: a paved runway of 1,255 m and a grass runway of 1,000 m used mainly for leisure flying. An aerodrome flight information service supports safe operations, and the site averages around 20,000 aircraft movements a year.

For passengers and crews, the compact terminal area provides basic services and the L'Escale restaurant with views of the runways. The airfield is a short taxi or private transfer ride from Royan and nearby Atlantic coast resorts such as Saint-Palais-sur-Mer, La Palmyre and Saint-Georges-de-Didonne.

With its coastal location and light aviation facilities, the airport functions as a convenient local gateway for private and leisure travel to the Côte de Beauté area.
