About Roman Tmetuchl International Airport
Roman Tmetuchl International Airport is Palau's main international airport, serving Koror and the island of Babeldaob. It is located in Airai, about 6 km from central Koror, and operates from a single runway with a compact passenger terminal.
The airfield began as a Japanese military airstrip during the Second World War and later developed into Palau's civilian airport. A new passenger terminal was completed in 2003 with Japanese grant aid, and the airport was renamed in 2006 in honor of Palauan businessman and politician Roman Tmetuchl.
ROR connects Palau to regional hubs through services operated by United Airlines and other carriers, with flights to destinations including Guam and Manila. From the airport, Koror is reached by taxi, hotel shuttle or pre-arranged transfer, typically in around 10 to 15 minutes across the Koror–Babeldaob bridge.
The airport provides a café, duty-free and souvenir shopping, free Wi-Fi and charging points, making it a straightforward arrival and departure point for travelers visiting Palau's islands and dive sites.
