About Rockhampton Airport
Rockhampton Airport (Connor Park) is the main regional airport serving Rockhampton and Central Queensland. Opened as Connor Park Aerodrome in 1930, it is owned and operated by Rockhampton Regional Council and sits about 5 km west of the city centre in West Rockhampton.
The airport connects travellers to Brisbane and other Queensland centres including Mackay and Cairns, with services operated by QantasLink and Virgin Australia. A single ground-level passenger terminal handles all scheduled flights, supported by two runways.
A major refurbishment completed in recent years added a mezzanine level, upgraded security screening and passenger lounge facilities. The terminal provides a cafe, showers, accessible amenities, free Wi-Fi and car parking.
Onward travel is straightforward by taxi, rideshare, the Young's Bus service, shuttle operators and car rental desks in the terminal. Rockhampton Airport functions as a convenient gateway for the city, the Capricorn Coast and Great Keppel Island.
