Rochefort-Saint-Agnant Airport (RCO)

Rochefort-Saint-Agnant Airport is a civil airport open to public air traffic serving Rochefort and the Charente-Maritime department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of western France. It mainly handles general aviation and business aviation, with an average of around 11,000 aircraft movements each year.

The site has a long military aviation history; the air force mechanics school was established at Rochefort in 1931, and the airport was previously used as the Base aérienne 721 Rochefort. Today it is managed by the Syndicat mixte des Aéroports de La Rochelle – île de Ré et Rochefort – Charente-Maritime and has a surfaced runway of 2,280 m by 45 m that can accept civil and military aircraft.

Located about 7 km south of central Rochefort, the airport is roughly a 12-minute drive from the town and is well placed for Royan, Île d'Oléron and La Rochelle. An on-demand transport service runs to Rochefort town centre and the SNCF railway station, and the airport sits near the road axis linking La Rochelle, Rochefort and Royan.

Facilities are modest and geared to light and business aviation, with aircraft parking, fuel services and local aeroclubs and skydiving activities. Travelers arriving by private or business aircraft can arrange transfers or continue to the Atlantic coast resorts and nearby towns by road.
