Located a short distance from central Powell River, the dock sits next to the Shinglemill Pub and Bistro and is about a 10-minute drive from the city centre. Harbour Air operates scheduled flights on the route, with the Powell River dock serving as the community's seaplane terminal.
In 2022, upgrades to the Powell Lake seaplane terminal enabled the introduction of commercial seaplane service between Powell River and downtown Vancouver, strengthening travel links for residents and visitors. The base continues to support regional air travel and scenic flights across the Sunshine Coast.
