Portimão Airport is a small municipal aerodrome located about 5 km west of Portimão city centre, near Montes de Alvor in Portugal's western Algarve. Operated by the Portimão City Council, it primarily serves general aviation, private flights, flight training and skydiving rather than scheduled commercial airline traffic.
The aerodrome has a single asphalt runway (11/29) measuring around 860 metres and handles VFR traffic under the Portimão Flight Information Service. It has no customs or immigration facilities, so scheduled international operations are not provided here; the region's main commercial gateway is Faro Airport, roughly 65 km to the east.
For visitors and crews, the airfield offers fuel services, aircraft hangars and convenient access to nearby restaurants, hotels and car rental. Taxis, buses and rental cars connect the aerodrome with Portimão, Alvor, Praia da Rocha, Lagos and other western Algarve destinations.
