About Perth Airport
Perth Airport is the main international and domestic gateway serving Perth and Western Australia. Located about 12 km east of the Perth city centre, it connects the state capital with destinations across Australia, Asia, the Middle East and beyond.
The airport site began as a wartime airfield in the early 1940s and was officially named Perth Airport in 1952. The modern terminal complex has grown in stages, including the 1986 international terminal, Terminal 2 in 2013, Terminal 1 Domestic in 2015 and the conversion of Terminal 3 for Qantas international services in 2018.
Four passenger terminals are arranged across two precincts, with Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 on Airport Drive and Terminal 3 and Terminal 4 on Brearley Avenue. A free terminal transfer bus connects the two areas.
Perth Airport is linked to the city by the Airport Line train from Airport Central station, buses, taxis, rideshare, private transfers and road connections via the Gateway WA interchange. With lounges, shopping, dining and onward travel options, it functions as Western Australia's principal air gateway.
