About Parry Sound Area Municipal Airport
Parry Sound Area Municipal Airport serves Parry Sound and the surrounding Seguin Township in Ontario's Georgian Bay and Muskoka cottage country. It is a regional general aviation airport rather than a scheduled commercial hub, supporting civil aviation, air ambulance operations, Ontario Provincial Police helicopters, Hydro One, and search and rescue flights.
The airport opened to the public in 1979, and its terminal building was constructed in 1983. The facility has since expanded to include a 4,900-foot asphalt runway, a 290 by 320-foot apron, hangars, and an airport business park that supports local aviation and industrial activity.
Located approximately 23 km (14 mi) southeast of Parry Sound, the airport is reached by road via local and regional routes. Travelers typically continue to town by private transfer, taxi, chauffeur service, or rental car; there are no scheduled passenger airline services at the airport.
Passenger amenities at the terminal include Wings Airport Café, a pilot lounge, flight planning facilities, wireless internet, and parking, making it a convenient general aviation gateway to Georgian Bay, the Muskoka Lakes, and the wider Parry Sound District.
