Ocean Falls Seaplane Base, also known as Ocean Falls Water Aerodrome, is a small public water aerodrome serving Ocean Falls on British Columbia's remote Central Coast. The base sits in Cousins Inlet directly beside the community and provides its main air connection, since Ocean Falls has no road access and is reached by boat, ferry or aircraft.
Ocean Falls was founded in 1914 as a pulp and paper mill town and once supported a much larger population. After the mill closed, the settlement became a quiet, small community within the Great Bear Rainforest, and the seaplane base now supports local travel, supply flights and visitors arriving by floatplane.
The aerodrome has a water landing area, a float dock and a concrete ramp, with a tidal range of about 18 feet. Operations depend on weather and water conditions and typically involve small floatplanes rather than larger scheduled passenger aircraft.
Bella Coola, roughly 88 km to the east, is the nearest road-accessible community and the main starting point for overland connections, while BC Ferries links Ocean Falls with other coastal points. Within Ocean Falls, visitors usually continue on foot or by pre-arranged boat or vehicle.
