North Bay Jack Garland Airport is the principal airport serving North Bay and Ontario's Near North region. Located in Hornell Heights, roughly 7 km north-northeast of downtown North Bay, it links the city with Toronto, Sudbury, and other communities and supports scheduled, charter, and general aviation traffic.
The airport opened its first terminal in 1938 and later added a new terminal in 1963 before modernization produced today's single-level, barrier-free passenger building. It is named after Jack Garland, a long-serving local member of parliament, and is home to Northern Ontario's longest runway at roughly 3,050 metres (10,000 feet).
Scheduled passenger services are provided by Air Canada Express and Bearskin Airlines, with customs clearance available for qualifying international general aviation aircraft. The terminal offers free Wi-Fi, food vending, a passenger work centre, and other traveler amenities.
