Nomane Airport is a small rural airstrip serving the Nomane area of Chimbu Province in the highlands of Papua New Guinea. It mainly supports light aircraft and charter flights that connect remote communities with larger towns in the region and has the ICAO code AYNO.
Located at an elevation of around 1,839 metres, the airport has a single runway, 08/26, which is roughly 496 metres long. There are no large terminal buildings, and passengers board and disembark on an apron beside the runway.
The airstrip is approximately 36 km from Kundiawa and about 44 km from Goroka, although slow mountain roads mean journeys can take considerably longer in wet weather. Road access links the area to the wider highlands network.
As a rural airstrip, Nomane Airport has limited passenger facilities, so travellers should arrange meals, drinking water and onward transport before their journey.
