About Nanaimo Airport
Nanaimo Airport is the main air gateway for Nanaimo and the central Vancouver Island region. The site dates back to 1942, when it was established as a Royal Canadian Air Force glider pilot training facility, and today it connects mid-island travellers with domestic destinations across Canada.
Located in the community of Cassidy, about 15 minutes south of downtown Nanaimo, the airport operates through a single Air Terminal Building named the Nanaimo-Collishaw Air Terminal. The terminal has been expanded several times, including projects in 2004, 2012 and 2018, and serves scheduled flights operated by Air Canada, WestJet and Pacific Coastal Airlines.
The airport is connected to Nanaimo by shuttle, taxi, transit bus and road links, with on-site parking and rental cars available. These options make it easy to reach downtown Nanaimo, Parksville, Qualicum Beach, Ladysmith and other Vancouver Island communities.
Passengers can use free Wi-Fi, charging and work stations, accessible washrooms, a café and vending machines within the terminal, making it a straightforward regional airport for arrivals and departures.
