Muttaburra Airport (UTB)

Muttaburra Airport is a small public aerodrome serving Muttaburra, a remote outback town in the Barcaldine Region of central western Queensland. It mainly supports supply flights, Royal Flying Doctor Service operations, charter travel and private aircraft serving local pastoral properties.

The airport lies about 6 km from Muttaburra town centre and has a single sealed runway designated 04/22. As a rural facility, it provides basic aerodrome infrastructure rather than a large commercial terminal, so passenger handling is typically arranged directly with operators.

Road access connects the airstrip with Muttaburra and the wider region, allowing onward travel toward centres such as Longreach, Barcaldine and Aramac. For the short journey into town, travellers generally rely on pre-arranged transfers, private vehicles or rental cars.

For outback travel and station visits, the airport offers a practical entry point to central western Queensland, with basic shelter, aircraft parking and vehicle access supporting general aviation users.
