About Murrin Murrin Airport
Murrin Murrin Airport is a small airport serving the Murrin Murrin nickel-cobalt mining operation in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia. It mainly supports charter and fly-in fly-out flights for workers travelling to and from the mine site, operated by Minara Resources.
Located about 60 km east of Leonora, the airport sits in a remote outback area of Western Australia. It has a single asphalt runway and compact passenger facilities suited to charter operations rather than large scheduled airline traffic.
Road access connects the airport to Leonora and the wider Goldfields region, while fly-in fly-out flights link the site with Perth and other regional points. Travellers should confirm access and transport arrangements in advance because the airport is primarily a private mine-site facility.
Although passenger facilities are limited, the airport plays an important role in keeping the Murrin Murrin operation connected to Perth and the region's workforce, supporting efficient crew changes and site logistics.
