Mount Hagen Kagamuga Airport is the main airport serving Mount Hagen, the capital of Papua New Guinea's Western Highlands Province, and the wider Waghi Valley region. Located about 13 km northeast of the city centre, it is one of the country's most important highland airports and the second largest in Papua New Guinea.
The airfield was first established in 1934 and used for early air services to Mount Hagen, before evolving into a regional aviation hub for domestic and limited international flights. A major redevelopment completed in 2015 delivered a new passenger terminal and upgraded runway facilities capable of handling larger aircraft and improved operations.
The airport has one passenger terminal and two runways, and is served by carriers including Air Niugini, PNG Air and Hevilift. It connects Mount Hagen with Port Moresby and other domestic destinations, with limited international services also operating from the airport.
