Leinster Airport (LER)

Leinster Airport (LER) is a small regional airport serving the remote mining town of Leinster in the northern Goldfields of Western Australia. Operated by BHP, the airport mainly supports fly-in fly-out charter flights connecting mine workers with Perth, about 640 km to the southwest by air. The airport is located roughly 8 km north of the Leinster township and has a single sealed runway of about 1,800 metres, used primarily by regional and charter aircraft. Passenger services are concentrated in one compact terminal building. Road access links the airport with Leinster, surrounding mine sites and the wider Goldfields region, while charter and fly-in fly-out flights provide the main onward connection to Perth. Because the area is remote, most travellers arrange transfers, rental vehicles or mine-provided transport in advance. Although facilities are modest, the airport provides an essential connection that keeps this outback mining region linked to Western Australia's capital and supply networks.
