Leigh Creek Airport is a small regional aerodrome serving the township of Leigh Creek in outback South Australia. Located about 2 km east of the town centre, it supports domestic, charter, private and general aviation flights and acts as a practical gateway to the northern Flinders Ranges.
The airport was developed alongside the purpose-built Leigh Creek township, which was relocated in the late 1970s and early 1980s to serve the nearby coalfields. Following the end of coal mining in 2015 and the transition of the township to State Government management in 2017, the aerodrome is now operated and managed by the Outback Communities Authority.
The airport has two runways and a single terminal building, with operations focused on regional, charter, private and emergency aviation rather than scheduled airline traffic. Facilities are basic, so travellers should plan ahead and confirm arrangements with their operator.
