Koodaideri Mine Airport is the private fly-in fly-out airport serving Rio Tinto's Gudai-Darri iron ore mine, formerly known as Koodaideri, in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Opened in November 2020, it gives mine workers a direct air link to Perth and Busselton instead of travelling long distances from another regional airport.
Located about 142 km northwest of Newman, the airport operates a single 2,200-metre asphalt runway that can handle Boeing 737, Airbus A320, Fokker 100 and smaller aircraft. A single FIFO terminal handles check-in, security screening, arrivals and baggage for scheduled mine charter flights.
Passenger traffic is mainly Rio Tinto employees and contractors travelling to and from the mine, and the airport also provides a safer landing option for the Royal Flying Doctor Service in the region.
Road access connects the terminal to the mine site and the wider Pilbara network, with private transfers, charter buses and vehicles used for journeys to Newman and surrounding mining operations.
