Kiunga Airport is the main domestic airport serving Kiunga, a port town on the Fly River in Western Province, Papua New Guinea. It connects the town and the surrounding North Fly District to Port Moresby and other destinations within Papua New Guinea through scheduled and charter flights.
Located about 3 km west of the town centre, the airport supports business, government and resource-related travel in the region. A redeveloped passenger terminal was opened in March 2025, and further works under the CADIP II programme include strengthening and widening the runway, taxiway and apron.
Passenger services are handled in a single terminal with airline check-in, security screening, baggage claim and waiting areas. Airlines serving Kiunga include Air Niugini and PNG Air.
Road access links the airport to Kiunga town and the Kiunga–Tabubil Highway, with taxis and private transfers available for onward travel. The airport is a practical gateway for travellers continuing to Tabubil, the Fly River area and other parts of Western Province.
