About Kingston Norman Rogers Airport

Kingston Norman Rogers Airport is a municipally owned regional airport serving Kingston, Ontario, and the surrounding eastern Ontario and Thousand Islands region. Located about eight kilometres west of the historic downtown at 1114 Len Birchall Way, the airport provides a convenient entry point for travellers visiting the city and nearby Lake Ontario shoreline communities.

The airport opened in 1940 as a Royal Canadian Air Force training station during the Second World War and later became a civil airport under City of Kingston ownership. A modernization program completed in 2019 expanded the passenger terminal, upgraded navigational aids and extended the primary runway to improve operations and passenger comfort.

Today, the airport operates a single passenger terminal. Air Canada's Landline motorcoach service connects YGK with Toronto Pearson, allowing travellers to check in at Kingston and continue through Toronto's global network. Private, charter and general aviation traffic also use the airport, and it is classified as an Airport of Entry by Nav Canada.

For ground transportation, passengers can use the terminal's curbside drop-off and parking areas, taxis, private transfers, chauffeur services or rental cars. Its location near Kingston's main road network makes it relatively easy to reach downtown Kingston, Queen's University and destinations throughout the region.
